Shelby Strandemo
Born and raised in the Chicagoland area of Lake County, Illinois, I became a Certified Personal Trainer back in 2016 and made the move with my husband to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2017. Prior to becoming a trainer, I competed in Muay Thai and Kickboxing between the years of 2014-2016 and have integrated that experience into my training services. I prioritize creating a strong foundation for my clients through Strength and Conditioning, but I also love teaching Boxing and Kickboxing. I have trained in Muay Thai and Kickboxing on and off for nearly 15 years and have spent the majority of that time coaching others in a way that I had always wished to be coached. Although I do not compete or train as often in Kickboxing, I have found a different avenue to scratch my competitive itch through Jiu-Jitsu and have trained in it since 2019 with my husband.
My background in martial arts has always been enhanced through a more functional approach to strength training to help improve my lifestyle, which is why I chose a career path that helps others in the same way. No matter if you have a prior athletic background or if you are tackling your fitness goals for the very first time, I believe my sole purpose as a proud female personal trainer is to help others navigate through the intimidating aspects of wherever they are and help them figure out a program that assists their goals and lifestyle. I know what it feels like to go about it alone; helping people remove the guesswork and feel prepared for whatever they want to achieve is my life's work. I have honed my craft over the years being the best personal trainer I can be and have experience working with anyone from 5 years old to even 90 plus years old. I also have experience working with people who have Parkinson's disease, Down Syndrome, and Autism.
No matter what your obstacle in life is, I know that I can help you feel prepared for whatever avenue you decide to take to become the fittest and healthiest version of yourself.
